  • Director of Sales – Northeast

    Job Description

As a SaaS B2G Account Executive, you will be responsible for owning, managing, and driving the sales process from a qualified lead to closing the deal. The position requires effective communication, presentation and closing skills.  VODA.ai offers AI-based SaaS solutions for water and wastewater utilities.  Your target clients will be director and manager level executives at utilities and engineering firms.

    Responsibilities:

    • Closing deals. If this is interesting, you should keep reading! You should be outgoing, personable, and passionate about helping customers and the business you represent.
    • You’ll use your charming personality and consultative approach to network and use various communication techniques to build a relationship with these individuals and demonstrate our value.
    • You’ll close the deals that make sense for both the customer and our business. Our customers always come first and every deal needs to be a win-win.
    • You’ll be measured on a few things – quota, bookings, revenue, upselling, win/loss ratio, days to close, deal size, etc.
    • You’ll attend trade shows and travel to meet with prospects or partners. At trade shows you’ll be helping to do everything from setting up the booth to manning it to selling to helping break it down.
    • You’ll contact your partners and resellers frequently to maintain close communication about deals and build great relationships with your counterparts.
    • You’ll maintain accurate information of your activities, next steps, probabilities, communications and more within our CRM.
    • While you’ll be part of the overall company team, you will own your sales process from qualified lead to closing. We’re focused on results, not on the number of activities.
    • You’ll need to perform product demonstrations for qualified leads. The products changes frequently so being a fast learner is necessary.
    • We expect everyone to contribute to our sales playbook on a regular basis. Update what works and what doesn’t.

    Qualifications

There are a few things we’re looking for:

    • Likability. Customers buy from those they like.
    • Trustworthiness. Customers buy from those they trust.
    • Professionalism. We have the coolest, cutting-edge technology, yet we present ourselves like our company has been around for over a century.
    • We’re looking for strong hunters. We are looking for someone hungry for closes, but not so hungry that they close the wrong deals or scare people. Ethics are more important than bookings.
    • Previous experience working with utility or government SaaS is preferred. Our business is with water and wastewater utilities so experience in that industry is helpful, yet not required.
    • You have to work well and play well with others.
    • There is travel involved. Quite a bit of it. While you will use Zoom as much as possible, most deals happen in person.  Expect at least 70% travel.
